The Institute for Grapevine Breeding Geilweilerhof is one of the 18 specialised institutes of the Julius Kühn Institute (JKI). The Julius Kühn Institute (JKI) is the Federal Research Centre for Cultivated Plants in Germany and an independent higher federal authority in the portfolio of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL).
The headquarters of the JKI is in Quedlinburg and there are 8 other locations. The Geilweilerhof in Siebeldingen is one of these sites and is home to the Institute for Grapevine Breeding and the viticulture section of the Institute for Plant Protection in Fruit and Viticulture.
